I build solutions when I find gaps — in processes, workflows, or anything that can be better. If it involves tech, my answer is always yes.
Building solutions where
others see gaps
I'm Surya Chowdary, a Cloud Support Engineer at Amazon Web Services, specializing in AWS Lambda and Serverless architectures. As a Subject Matter Expert on Lambda, I help AWS customers design, debug, and optimize serverless workloads at scale — working across services like API Gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB, EventBridge, and more.
Beyond my core role, I'm a relentless builder. When I spot a gap in a process or a workflow that could be smoother, I don't wait — I build the solution. From cross-device chat widgets using Amazon Connect to internal browser extensions that streamline support engineering workflows, I'm always shipping tools that make real impact.
I genuinely love what I do — there's something deeply satisfying about noticing a friction point and just building the fix for it. Outside of work, I enjoy long coastal drives near Vizag in my Mussel Blue 2018 Volvo V40 Cross Country, tinkering with Swift and Kotlin out of curiosity, and diving into whatever new technology catches my eye that week.

Tools I've built at AWS
Real tools solving real problems — built when I spotted a gap and decided to fill it. Internal AWS projects, each one shipped and used in production.
Connect Cross-Device Chat Widget
A web-based chat widget enabling true cross-device session continuity for Amazon Connect. Customers can start a chat on one device and seamlessly reconnect on another without losing conversation history — managing token lifecycle, WebSocket connections, and session persistence.
AWS Support Browser Extension
A dedicated browser extension for the AWS Support team to manage cases and automate workflows. Provides quick actions, case management, and workflow automation directly in the browser.
AWS Templates & Productivity Scripts
A collection of Tampermonkey userscripts that help AWS Support Engineers manage daily work efficiently — streamlining case notes, documentation, and common workflows.
Raycast Extension for Support Engineers
A custom Raycast extension designed to enhance productivity for AWS Support Engineers. Built to streamline daily workflows and quick actions.
Where I've worked
My journey from intern to Subject Matter Expert at Amazon Web Services — building, troubleshooting, and shipping every step of the way.
Cloud Support Engineer - 1
Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on AWS Lambda and Serverless technologies. Helping enterprise customers design, troubleshoot, and optimize complex serverless architectures across Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Connect, Bedrock, and more. Building internal tools — browser extensions, scripts, and automation — that improve team workflows. Designing AI agent contact flows using Amazon Connect and Bedrock. Known for unique troubleshooting approaches and proactive problem-solving.
Intern
Completed an internship gaining foundational experience with AWS services and cloud support engineering, leading to a full-time conversion as Cloud Support Engineer.
